Cities
after transition

12th International Urban Geographies
of Post-Communist States Conference

About the conference

Transition is not one story.

CATference 2027 broadens the conference’s traditional focus on postsocialist urban transformation into a comparative conversation about cities experiencing transition across different world regions.

Central and Eastern Europe, the Caucasus, and post-Soviet Eurasia meet urban theory from the Global South—across six days of talks, exchange, and fieldwork in Yerevan.
